Harry Slabotsky papers, circa 1905-1949.

Papers include a newspaper clipping and circulars from the Southern Pacific Lines (1920) and the Houston and Texas Central Railroad Company (1917) regarding Slabotsky's employment and position with the companies. Graphic materials include two printed pictures, possibly of Slabotsky and his graduating class; two photographs of water drainage tunnels [194-?]; and a postcard of a bridge in Morgan City, La. Slabotsky's 1906 LSU diploma is also included.

Harry Slabotsky was born in 1885 and graduated from Louisiana State University in the Spring of 1906 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. His 1906 thesis is titled, THE UNITED STATES SYSTEM OF LAYING OUT THE PUBLIC LANDS. He worked for railroads in Texas and Louisiana and apparently later moved on to work in the hydroelectric industry.
